Wrong Number Texts

Another website I have become addicted to is wrongnumbertexts.com. This website is where people can go and put a snapshot of texts that they have received from people who have the wrong number. Some are from people that they don’t know, some are from people that they do know, but have just sent it to the wrong person.

Now imagine your dad sending you something racy meant for your mom. Eww gross, right? Or imagine meaning to text your friend details about something bad you did last night but somehow sending it to your mom. Big oopsie right? We are in a digital age and it makes for lots of cannon fodder!

While I truly enjoy and love to go to the sites and read about peoples interesting failures and mistakes, I do have to say that I think it has brought many bad things our way as well. Boys getting in trouble because girls are sending them dirty pictures of themselves and then the boys pass them around. It’s wrong on both their parts. Pedophiles have more access to our kids and most of our kids just don’t want to believe these things can happen to them, regardless of whether we tell them about it or we keep them sheltered.

We are definitely more aware of what is going on in our world today, and I think that’s a good thing, but I also wonder if it’s a bad thing too? Is ignorance really a good thing for some people? Is there any truth in what they say? That some people would not be doing some of the bad things they do, if it was not first brought to their attention by hearing or seeing it somewhere else? On the other hand I think it’s not fair to punish everyone because a few can’t control themselves? But are we already punishing people because these people end up doing atrocious things anyhow?? What’s the answer? I sure don’t know. I just hope they stay the heck away from me and mine and hope they get caught before they can hurt anybody.

Either way, if you’re bored and want a good laugh check out wrongnumbertexts.com.

Impatiently Waiting

This was the Facebook status update of my mom’s cousin today. My response to her, “That’s the story of my life.” On further reflection I have a feeling that it’s probably the story of many people’s lives. With the day to day hustle and bustle of our lives we are always running from one thing to another thing and always in such a hurry. Never leaving much time for us to ‘stop and smell the roses’ so to speak. I tried to think of a time when I am not Impatiently Waiting for something and realized that I’m always waiting for something even if it’s not impatiently. When watching a movie even if I enjoy it, I am still waiting for it to end so I can leave to go do the things I need to get done, or go to sleep. When taking a bath, reading my book, I am waiting to finish the end of the chapter so I can get out of the tub so I can go do whatever needs to be done before I can go to bed for the evening. Whatever it is, whatever the time or day I am always waiting for the next thing to come with no care of how enjoyable a task it is or how appreciative I am for what I am doing or receiving I am always just waiting for the next thing to come along. So now I ask myself how can I change my entire outlook on life to not be just waiting? Is it even possible? Obviously today is one of those days.. LOL
